At the Kaupoa Beach Village, guests enjoy a variety of
outdoor activities including mountain biking, hiking, beach
and ocean activities, horseback trail rides, whale watching
boat tours (Dec-May), nature walks and more. Hale
accommodations are tents (wooden structures with canvas
wrap) on raised wooden platforms of 350-500 square feet.
These environmentally friendly eco-tourism tents include
solar-powered lights, ceiling fans, queen beds and spacious
lanais. Private bathrooms feature self-composting flushing
toilets and showers with solar-powered hot running water.
There are no televisions or telephones in the tents. The
two-story Lodge in the town of Maunaloa is rustic and
comfortable. It features 22 spacious guestrooms, a Great
Room, fine dining, game room and lounge, spa and wrap-around
verandas with spectacular panoramic views. There is an
additional fee for activities and transfers to and from the
airport. $15/day resort fee not included in prices.
